Music Treehouse receives funding grant from the London Freemasons
Thanks to a generous grant from London Freemasons through the Masonic Charitable Foundation, Music Treehouse is now expanding to offer three annual projects in SEND schools in Islington, Reading and Slough over the next three years.
HMDT Music to participate in The Big Give to fundraise for One Spirit
We have been selected to participate in the Big Give’s ‘Arts for Impact’ fundraising scheme, in which we’re hoping to raise much needed funds for One Spirit, with each donation DOUBLED through match funding!
The Saturday Programme welcomes players from the City of London Sinfonia

‘One Spirit’ participants perform at the ‘The Power of Mentoring: NDYP Celebration Event’
On Tuesday 7th October, in celebration of the Mayor’s New Deal for Young People delivering quality mentoring to over 100,000 young people, ‘The Power of Mentoring: NDYP Celebration Event’ brought together colleagues and young people from the funded projects across London and shared the impact with key members of the youth sector through inspiring stories and amazing performances. We were thrilled to have two One Spirit participants perform at the event.

HMDT Music Celebrates its 30th Anniversary
We’re delighted to launch our 30th Anniversary year and let you know about two major performances of our commissions: We’ll Meet Again and Odyssean Variations, which showcase our award-winning methodology of creating new works which embed the arts across all learning.

30th Anniversary Performances
Our Saturday Programme students are hard at work preparing for two exciting performances happening in the summer term.
Shakespeare Day of Performance 10th Anniversary
December 2024 marked the 10th anniversary of our annual Shakespeare Day of Performance, which we devise for Creative Education Trust, bringing together 10 schools across the Midlands and Great Yarmouth to perform half hour versions of Shakespeare’s plays.
The E Project & Art of Inclusion Training Scheme
Our E Project is in its final year of funding and we are further developing resources and training artists on including Diversity and Equity in their practice and bringing this into schools.
Music Treehouse Award Nomination
We were proud to be shortlisted for the ‘Excellence in SEND (Music & Drama)’ award at the Music & Drama Awards 2025, which celebrates outstanding achievements in Music and Drama education, recognising organisations that have made a significant impact.
Funding for One Spirit
We're delighted to have received a 3-year Catalyser grant from Youth Music to support One Spirit, which works with young offenders in custody, the community and those at risk in PRUs to ignite sector change through its therapeutic effects on mental health of combining music and mentoring in custody and on release, as well as its impact on prevention of those at risk of entering the youth justice system.
