HMDT Music’s core project in the community is its project One Spirit for young offenders and those at risk of offending. It also offers individual music lessons for all ages through its programme Music Lessons for You. Past community projects have included The Hoxton Singers Elders choir and commissions of new intergenerational performance projects.
One Spirit is an Intervention, Resettlement and Restorative programme, using music and creative arts, to help support and transform the lives of the most vulnerable young people in our community, who are at risk of and/or already embroiled in the criminal justice system and consistently facing systematic discrimination and racial inequity.

Music lessons for You! offers vocal and instrumental lessons from top quality music teachers in a huge range of instruments (orchestral or non orchestral, composition and theory.
Toy Box
The Toy Box is an intergenerational piece comparing childhood and children’s toys from yesteryear with the gadgets and toys of today. Created through workshops and visits to The Museum of Childhood.
On London Fields
A unique and innovative project involving over 700 people, in which students helped to devise a new community opera, celebrating Hackney's history and diversity.
I’ll be seeing You
I’ll Be Seeing You is HMDT’s intergenerational tribute to the Home Front, commissioned to celebrate the 60th Anniversary of the end of World War II.
