The E Project & Art of Inclusion Training Scheme

Our final year of the E Project for primary schools in Stoke on Trent, Lytham St Anne’s, Luton and Hackney, which aims to embed equality, diversity and inclusion across the curriculum, began with an exploration of topics including the Holocaust, Civil Rights, Diversity in British Law, Migration, and Inspirational Leaders. It will culminate with a bank of online resources and teaching videos developed through artist workshops in drama, art and music.

The students engaged really well with the scenarios I asked them to act out and were passionate about standing up for things they identified as discriminatory - Jo Carey, Drama Workshop Facilitator

Art of Inclusion Training Scheme

Young artists participating in The Art of Inclusion Training Scheme to develop their own practitioner skills, creative practice, and engagement with EDI, received a two-day training course with E Project practitioners, Jo Carey and Sophie Gresswell, before delivering their own in-school workshops at Berger Primary School.

It has been a long-standing ambition of mine to develop workshops and become a facilitator. I see this training as an opportunity to develop my creative practice in an educational setting – Art of Inclusion Trainee

Incorporating inclusion into learning is something I care deeply about, and this training will provide an invaluable experience to go deeper and pair this with practical skills in dialogue with a group of like-minded individuals – Art of Inclusion Trainee
