Rowan Jones is a London-based clarinettist and educator with a career spanning classical and contemporary music. She graduated with First Class Honours from the Royal Academy of Music in 2021 and earned a Masters in Performance from the Royal College of Music in 2023. She has played with ensembles including the English National Opera Orchestra, Orchestra of Opera North, Orpheus Ensemble and Wild Arts Opera amongst others.
A passionate advocate for contemporary music, Rowan is a 2024/25 Britten Pears Young Artist and was a 2023/24 London Sinfonietta Academist. She has collaborated with The Explore Ensemble, Tangram Collective, Shadwell Opera and participated in chamber residencies with the Tunnel Trust and Ferrandou Musique. Rowan is also a 2024/25 Orpheus Sinfonia instrumental fellow. As an educator, Rowan has been the clarinet tutor for HMDT Music since 2023 and has expressive experience in teaching and outreach with the London Sinfonietta, RCM Sparks, Music House for Children, and private students.
