Develop your musical skills and experience in a creative, fun, and supportive environment at HMDT Music’s Saturday Programme; a Saturday music school in the heart of Hackney offering early years, instrumental, music theatre, SEND and jazz programmes for everyone aged 1- 25 years.
HMDT Music’s award-winning projects for schools include commissions of new works for students to perform, which usually focus on celebrating those whose voices are rarely heard, supported by arts-embedded cross-curricular resources and workshops.
HMDT Music’s core project in the community is its work with young offenders. It also offers music lessons for all ages and past projects have included The Hoxton Singers Elders choir and commissions of new intergenerational performance projects.
Enabling under 4s to explore basic rhythms and melodies and helps parents gain the confidence to experiment and enjoy music making with their children.

HMDT Music’s E Project sets out to empower, enrich, equalise, expand, embed, engage, and evaluate through the creation of an arts-embedded curriculum focusing on themes and issues of inclusion, diversity, racial inequality and anti-racism.

One Spirit is a music and creative arts based project specialising in working with young people in the criminal justice system, focused on those both in custody and recently released from custody.

Music Lessons For You! offers music lessons from top quality music teachers. Vocal and instrumental lessons in a huge range of instruments (orchestral or non-orchestral), composition or theory.

A unique and innovative project involving over 700 people, in which students helped to devise a new community opera, celebrating Hackney's history and diversity.

Toy Box
The Toy Box is an intergenerational piece comparing childhood and children’s toys from yesteryear with the gadgets and toys of today. Created through workshops and visits to The Museum of Childhood.
